Coaching

Coaching conversations are structured differently, because what shifts your life is going to be different than what works for someone else.

To begin, it’s important to understand the multiple options available and how they differ;

  • Therapy
focuses on clients healing from past trauma and the diagnosis of mental health conditions.

  • Mentoring
is based on the mentor sharing their personal experience to lead the mentee.

  • Consulting
provides solutions and advice based on the consultant's expertise.

Each of these methods have value. Knowing the difference between them is vital to choosing the option that helps you achieve lasting results.

Coaching empowers the client by respecting their values, strengths, and ability to change. It builds on this foundation to guide the client towards the goals that align and support them.

The goals a client brings to coaching sessions vary but a few examples include:

  • Overcoming roadblocks to important goals; understanding why they have continued to flounder or had uneven traction and creating an achievable path forward.

  • Building habits for health, personal life, relationships, and career.

  • Career decisions both within a current career and transitions to new roles or fields.

  • Identifying priorities and understanding the most impactful way to allocate the time you have

  • Finding balance not just between work and home but across all aspects of your life

The subject of each session is based on the client and what is most important to them.

Business Consulting

Each business is as unique as the people and products that brought them to this point. That’s why it’s important to have solutions that work with their individual strengths and assets.

We can work at several levels within the company based on the areas of focus we’ve identified:

Company - Partnering with owners, leaders, and “do-ers” within the organization that understand what the business could be, but needs additional tools to unlock its full potential. From there we create custom solutions based on the goals, priorities, and risks identified during the initial consultation.

Team - Working with company leaders or department teams in structured development sessions, which guide the team to understand their current state, look at issues and opportunities through a new lens, and use this deeper understanding to drive changes.

Individual - One on one coaching sessions to support individuals at a variety of stages: experienced leaders through new team members, in overcoming challenges, developing new habits, and advancing both as individuals and members of the team.

The solutions are based on the needs of the company but can include:

  • Leading strategic planning session

  • Guided SWOT analysis of teams or business

  • Current state process assessment and understanding value add vs non-value added steps/processes

  • Developing flowcharts to clarify processes and highlight bottlenecks

  • Review or create standard operating procedures

  • Create clarity on team and individual priorities and deliverables

  • Defining cross department and internal ownership and escalation

  • Understanding internal/external customers and expectations

  • Skills and personality assessment to understand individuals strengths

  • Individual and group coaching sessions

Business Consulting

There is no one size fits all solution or magic “how to book” for business. Each business is as unique as the people and products that brought them to this point. Each business need a solution that works with their unique strengths and assets.

Meet Jenn

Over the past 20 years I’ve taken on multiple struggling, dysfunctional teams, and turned them into an asset. Not by implementing one size fits all changes or demolishing all existing structures, but by learning about the team and meeting them where they are before making changes. Much of my career was built on my understanding of the intersection between people and processes; how they can impact each other, where process problems can change the people involved and grow into culture issues, and how to implement solutions that lead to a healthy system of ownership and accountability.

However, working in the community with other manufacturers, businesses, and nonprofits I saw how much they struggled with the same issues. I watched intelligent driven business owners grasping at solutions that didn’t align with the priorities and work culture they’d worked so hard to develop. My work with young leaders allowed me to witness how having an advocate to listen to them impacted their confidence, the decisions they made, and how they showed up everyday.

This drove me to make a change, leaving my position as Director of Quality for a multi billion dollar company, and committing to using my experience, training, and passion for improvements to focus on individuals and businesses.

Testimonials from Happy Clients

Testimonials from Happy Clients •

  • In short, no.

If you're trying to tackle a challenge, change a habit, or build a new skill without having a value proposition and understanding why it's important to you, you will eventually give up.

    We’ve all done it:

    • Read the book that changed our friends life only to feel…meh.

    • Jumped into the fitness plan that helped a coworker lose 20 lbs…you gain 5 lbs instead.

    • Bought into the system, hack, app that worked for your boss…only to add it to the growing list of things that didn’t work.

These things weren’t flawed or wrong, they just didn’t align with you. And maybe if you tried 20, 30, or more you might stumble on the right one but, is that really the best use of your time?

Instead we dive deep to identify the “why?” behind your goal. Understanding that gives you the traction to push through and achieve what you want. That's why coaching focuses on you really owning and driving what changes rather than relying on advice from someone else. The conversations are focused differently, to make you look deeper, and understand your values and motivations. Coaching is centered on you understanding yourself, because what shifts your life is going to be different than what works for someone else.

  • Packaging a “solution” without knowing the problem would be a disservice to you and your business. But, it’s also very common. A competitor implemented X and saw improvements so obviously you need the same solution, right? Only if you have the same issue, culture, workforce, processes, goals…

Instead we work together to develop a tailored approach focused on the unique strengths and challenges your business and team are facing. No prechewed filler material or rinse and repeat solutions that cloud your progress.

When you’re partnering with a business consultant you want someone that works to understand your current obstacles before they become barriers. Just as vital, you need someone that understands what’s working so they can protect those aspects during the process. This insight ensures you’re investing in your business, your team, with a focused and sustainable solution.

  • The best way to know that is to ask.

That’s why I recommend everyone take advantage of the free 30 minute intro call. It’s an opportunity to ask any questions you have and get clarity on if this is the right option for you. No sales pitch, you drive the conversation to get the information you need.
